Mizoram

Mizoram was formed on February 20, 1987, after being granted statehood under the State Reorganisation Act. Located in the northeastern region of India, it shares borders with Assam to the north, Manipur to the northeast, Tripura to the northwest, and international borders with Myanmar and Bangladesh. With a geographical area of 21,081 square kilometers and a population of approximately 10.9 lakhs (2011 Census), Mizoram is known for its lush green hills, diverse tribal culture, and agro-based economy.

Mizoram’s economy is primarily driven by agriculture, horticulture, handloom, handicrafts, bamboo-based industries, and tourism. The state has vast bamboo resources, which play a crucial role in industrial growth. Sericulture, floriculture, and organic farming are also emerging as significant contributors to the economy. The government is actively promoting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to boost economic development

Mizoram signed the Letter of Undertaking (LoU) with the Ministry of MSME, Government of India on 16th September 2022. It submitted its Strategic Investment Plan (SIP) and RPC approved 6 projects worth Rs. 37.36 Cr for Mizoram.
