Jharkhand was formed on November 15, 2000, after being separated from Bihar. Located in the eastern region of India, it shares borders with Bihar to the north, West Bengal to the east, Odisha to the south, and Chhattisgarh & Uttar Pradesh to the west. With a geographical area of 79,714 square kilometers and a population of approximately 3.3 crores (2011 Census), Jharkhand is known for its mineral wealth, tribal heritage, and industrial presence.
It is rich in coal, iron ore, copper, uranium, mica, and bauxite, making it one of India’s most mineral-rich states. Jamshedpur, the industrial hub, is home to Tata Steel, while Bokaro is known for its steel plant. The state also has a growing presence in automobile manufacturing, textiles, and food processing industries.
Jharkhand signed the Letter of Undertaking (LoU) with the Ministry of MSME, Government of India on 14th November 2022. It submitted its Strategic Investment Plan (SIP) and RPC approved 20 projects worth Rs. 70.07 Cr for Jharkhand.

- Technology Centre and Skill Development Training Program for MSME Workforce

- Single Window System Strengthening in the State of Jharkhand
- Skill Enhancement and Training Program for Workers in Plastic Parks under RAMP
- Establish an Incubation Centre to Nurture, “Forest-Place-Culture” and “Circular Economy” Based Entrepreneurial Ventures
- Setting up an Innovation Centre for Strengthening and Revamp of JHARCRAFT
- Industry -Academia collaboration for Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programmes (ESDP), Management Development & Upskilling of Existing Women, SC/ST Entrepreneurs
- Promotion of Champion MSMEs through ZED and LEAN
- Establishment of a State-of-the-Art Testing Laboratory for Tussar Silk in Jharkhand
