Andhra Pradesh is a state on the east coast of southern India. It is the seventh-largest state and the tenth-most populous in the country. Andhra Pradesh, the first India state formed primarily on the basis of language post-independence, split off from the Madras Presidency in 1953.

Andhra State merged with the Telugu speaking portion of Hyderabad State in 1956 to create the state of Andhra Pradesh. Andhra Pradesh is bordered by the Bay of Bengal to the east, Tamil Nadu to the south, Karnataka to the southwest and west, Chhattisgarh to the north-west, and Orissa to the north. Andhra Pradesh is 160,205 square kilometres in area and had a population of 49,577,103 in 2011.

Andhra Pradesh's main industries include agriculture, automobiles, IT, and textiles. It's also a major producer of fish and shrimp. Andhra Pradesh is known as India's "Rice Bowl" because of its fertile river basins. The state's agriculture and allied sectors had a Compounded Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 8.80% in 2024-25. The economy of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh is primarily dependent on agriculture, which directly and indirectly employs 62% of the population.

Andhra Pradesh signed the Letter of Undertaking (LoU) with the Ministry of MSME, Government of India on 10th February 2023. It submitted its Strategic Investment Plan (SIP) on 15th September 2022 and RPC approved projects worth Rs.107.07 Cr for Andhra Pradesh.

The key projects approved are as follows:

  • Formalisation of MSMEs - Udyam Registration.
  • Creation of supporting BDS Ecosystem in State.
  • Entrepreneurship & Skill Development Program (ESDP) with special emphasis on Women & SC/ST.
  • Procurement and Marketing Support (PMS).
  • Export Promotion Programmes.
  • Trade Receivable Discounting System (TReDS).
  • MSME-Sustainable - ZED Certification, LEAN Certification.
  • MSME Innovative – IPR: Awareness programmes for MSMEs.
