Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand was established on November 9, 2000, as the twenty-seventh state of India, formed by carving out the hill regions and hinterlands from the Uttar Pradesh. The State is surrounded by the states of Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana. Total area and population of the state are 53483 square kilometres and 100.86 lakh, respectively.

Industrial Policy, focused on, providing a comprehensive framework to create an investor-friendly environment that facilitates rapid and sustainable industrial growth in the state is prepared. Primary sector of the state consists of Crop, Livestock, Forestry & Logging, Fishing & Mining & Quarrying. Secondary sector includes Manufacturing, Electricity, gas & other utility services & Construction.

Uttarakhand signed the Letter of Undertaking (LoU) with the Ministry of MSME, Government of India on 15th September 2022. It submitted its Strategic Investment Plan (SIP) on 2nd February 2024 and RPC approved projects worth Rs. 83.05 Cr.

  • Udyam Registration drive for formalization of existing unorganized MSMEs
  • Access to market: Incentivising MSMEs/ women/SC/ST enterprises.
  • DIC Strengthening: Human Resource Management.
  • Access to finance: SME Exchange.
  • MSME Facilitation Desk.
  • Digital Interventions (integrated portal).
