The state of Haryana was established on November 1st, 1966, after its separation from Punjab. It is located in the northern part of India, bordered by Punjab to the north, Himachal Pradesh to the northeast, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh to the east, Rajasthan to the south and west, and the Union Territory of Chandigarh serving as its capital. With a geographical area of 44,212 square km and a population of approximately 2.54 crores (2011 Census), Haryana is known for its agricultural prosperity, industrial growth, and strategic location as a hub of economic activities in North India.
The economy of Haryana is driven by agriculture, manufacturing, and the service sector. It is one of India’s leading agrarian states, contributing significantly to the country’s food grain production. The state is also home to several industrial clusters, including automobile manufacturing in Gurugram and Manesar, textiles in Panipat, and IT and service industries in key cities. Additionally, Haryana has a strong presence of MSMEs in various sectors, including engineering, pharmaceuticals, and food processing.
Haryana signed the Letter of Undertaking (LoU) with the Ministry of MSME, Government of India on 9th September 2022. It submitted its Strategic Investment Plan (SIP) on 1st December 2023 and RPC approved 12 projects worth Rs. 135.17 Cr for Haryana.
